Privacy Policy of PowerBlock – Ad & Tracker Blocker

📅 Last updated: June 1, 2026 · Effective immediately

🛡️ No Data Collection – Zero Telemetry

PowerBlock is built from the ground up to never collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no servers, no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no “phone home” features. Every piece of data — your settings, block statistics, whitelist — stays inside your browser’s local storage.

🔐 Permissions – Why & How

declarativeNetRequest – Blocks network requests to ad, tracker, and miner domains. All blocking rules are embedded in the extension and applied by the browser itself, not by JavaScript. No URL content is ever read or logged.

storage – Saves your preferences (master toggle, per‑feature toggles, whitelist, stats). Purely local.

tabs & activeTab – Used only to read the current website’s domain for the popup whitelist button. No browsing history is recorded or retained.

webNavigation – Detects when you navigate to a new page so the popup can update the current site status. No data is logged or transmitted.

No permission is used for tracking, profiling, or any form of external communication.

🌍 Third‑Party Services – None

PowerBlock uses zero external libraries or services that could track you. No Google Analytics, no Sentry, no remote logging. The only external requests are:

All other operations (blocking, counting, whitelisting) happen completely offline.

🔧 What PowerBlock Blocks

PowerBlock protects you by blocking requests to known ad servers, tracking domains, and cryptocurrency miners. The block lists are:

All lists are community‑inspired and updated with each extension release. Optionally, you can manually fetch updated lists via the “Update Lists” button (no auto‑update to preserve privacy).

👶 Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

PowerBlock does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. Because there is no data collection at all, there is no risk of violating COPPA or similar regulations. The extension is safe for all ages.
